More Swap info

Hey Guys, I have some more info on the SWAP!!!  What I am thinking, is that we will have an even number of people in the swap.  I will choose names, and pair 2 people together.  Once we have the teams I will set up a  chart, and you guys will all have input.  Lets say that I am partnered with Jen, Jen would send to me, and I will send to Jen.  We will then go by the schedule. So if we set up a swap for March we will decide if it will be a project or a card or even a swap of some product that you have to much of, or that you no longer  need.  I will make up a form, that will ask questions that will tell me how often you want to swap, or how much is your limit to spend, ect.  This will help me figure out who to partner you with.  I will figure everything out, and fill you in.  If you think that you would be interested in joining send me an email and let me know.  My email is karenskrafts1@aol.com  Lets try and leave the sign ups to March 15th, if we need longer we will extend it, but right now lets see who is interested right now!   Sound like fun????

Good Morning

Hey Fellow bloggers,  I am writing this Saturday morning, thinking about how much I have missed my blog. It is amazing how a few days of not being on here chatting, and commenting around, how much I missed it.  The thing is, is when I first started, I was wondering how I was going to find the time to do it.  I remember thinking, "A blog, that would mean writing every day, or at least 2 times a week."  and who would really want to read it, let alone care about what I think, or say, but after losing so much of mycrafting supplies in the water in my basement this week that I realized, it was you guys that were the ones offering to send me some of your own supplies, not like my "friends" who are not in this crafting world, (who I do love very much) that were saying, "at least it was only crafting supplies" and when I was in my funk about losing my crafting supplies, it was you guys who were checking to see if I was doing o.k., and it was you guys who could tell just by my typing, that I was not, and I thought,  None of my "friends" offered to help replace things that got wrecked, they were the ones saying, well you have so much stuff anyway.  and then it hit me, "my own friends" did I hear what I was saying, "my own friends" how crazy was that to say, it was even crazier to hear.  What was the definition of a friend? I decided to look it up, but there was a quote, and it did not say who wrote it, but when I read it I immediately thought of you guys, my "scrappy friends" it was,  A true friend is someone who thinks that you are a good egg even though he knows that you are slightly cracked. ...  If that doesn't describe each and every one of you, then I don't know what does.  After all, I don't know about you, but my blog is the exact place where I write without being judged, I can be honest about what I think, and feel, and I know that if I ask for your opinion, I know that you are going to give it to my truthfully.  My "blogger"  friends, have nothing to gain by lying to me, you guys (I hope) tell me the truth, because you guys all love what I love, and by telling me that maybe I should put yellow behind the pink, or maybe those polka dots, don't exactly go with that sympathy card, and that maybe I should not use that Peachy Keen winking face stamp on top of it. What I am really trying to say is that I am so grateful to have started my blog, and to have met such caring wonderful people who love to do, what I love to do, people who tell me what they honestly think, people who have nothing to gain by not being perfectly honest with me, people that I consider friends.  Thanks to you all for helping get me out of my funk.   Karen<3

Secret Swap

Hi Guys, I wanted to let you all know that I have come out of my funk.  I was scrapping last night, making some things for the next craft fair that I might be in.  I do not have one lined up, but I knew that I could make some stuff using my scraps,  and I could get in the zone, and not have to think to much, because most of the items I have been making for years.  Anyway, I was thinking, would anyone be interested in doing a monthly Secret Swap?  It would be something like we could set a price range, or not, and swap names which we would not know who has who, and have a theme every month, and you would have to make something for your secret swapee, pertaining to that theme.  I think it would be fun, nothing huge , high priced , or to time consuming.  You would also have the option of sending your secret swapee little care packages, ect. extra if you want.  You would also only be able to contact your swapee by putting a note in your shipment, or by snail mail to keep it a secret.  Or there is the other option we could have it not be a secret, whatever we decide, I think it would be fun.  If you think you would be interested, leave a comment, and let me know, or if you have any ideas.

Horrible Day!!

I was having a horrible day to begin with, just not feeling well, and then to my horror, my son yelled up from the basement, that there was water on the floor down there!! True to his word, I ran down there to find, well let me back up by saying that you all know that in my video I have alot of supplies, but what you don't know is that I also store some things in my basement, which brings me to the horror of the water.  The boxes that were sitting in the water, were, yup, you guessed it, my craft supplies!  I am a touch on the devestated side,  I am on my way back down to try and rescue more, just thought I would update you all!  Karen<3

Product Review Un-du Sticker, Tape, and Label remover

Hey all you Bloggers in Bloggerville, I am starting a new series over here at karens-kakes and krafts, Reviewing Products.  I have always loved reading product reviews, so I thought, I love to try new products, and I test products at my Creative Home Arts Club, where I am a life member. I recommend joining, it is a great place to learn new crafts, talk about your crafts ect. anyway, let me stick to the point.  So, I recently found out that there are some of you papercrafters, that have no idea what Un-du is. To me, someone who will not craft without it, that was shocking!! Un-du, is a liquid, that when you put it on top of paper, or photos that you accidentally stuck together, and you think that you have wrecked, or the card that you have been working on for 20 mins, or the scrapbooking page that was almost finished,  and you think that you have to start all over, or try to figure a way to fix it, well now you don't.  In this video you will see how it works, and why I can't live without it! Drawing of My Baby Girl (Not Really a Baby She Is In College)

 These are some drawings that I did of my daughter Amanda, I don't like the mouth on it, so I thought if I looked at it everyday, I will go back and fix it, cause it will bother me so much that I will have to.  It was right bu I couldn't leave well enough alone, and I had to touch it, and I changed it and changed it, and now it REALLY bothers me. So this will stay somewhere on here till I fix it, and when I fix it i will show you a picture of her, but until then it will be here!!

Hi To All My Blogger Buddies!!

Hi All, I have been so busy scrapping away, doing an album for a friend of mine who wants to pay me to do her childrens baby albums, and you guys all know how hard it is to charge for the work that we do.  So of course I have no idea what I am going to charge, but I am having fun doing it. I took pictures to put up on my blog today, but then realized that I can't put the pictures up without permission from my friend considering it is her child,  Even though he is 20 now, I wouldn't feel right. (Besides the fact that there are pictures of her in the hospital right after giving birth) even though I think she looks beautiful, I know that if it were me, and someone put pictures of me after giving birth, well use your imagination!! Anyway I will cover the pictures, and then show you guys the pages.  I am also working on my projects for my FIRST blog hop on Feb 12th!! I am sorry, but I think that making videos to put up on my blog is the wierdest thing ever!  It is not normal to talk to people that are not there!! (and you all know the issue with my voice)  Let's see what else is going on...  Oh yes, you will all be shocked to hear, that MA is expecting SNOW!! I know it is shocking, I can't open doors, because the snow is covering half of it. The only good thing, is that we are supposed to get it Tomorrow, so school can't be cancelled.  Although they are also talking snow for the beginning of next week too!! Anyway, I will post my pages later, and I hope everyone has a great day!! The Weather Gods Hate Me!!

O.K. First I thought that the weather gods were angry, not letting me go out to Joannes, and Michaels last week with the additional foot and a half of snow, deciding that when I WAS able to get out, that the snow banks would be so high that you are taking your life into your  hands just trying to back out of the driveway! Then there was the ever populat "Let's really drive her crazy, and keep the kids home from school today", but this is just the icing on the cake, the ever popular 2 day storm, and let's not stop at that, let's dump a foot or so today, and then let's let the kids out early today, and then when she thinks that she just can;t take it any more, then we will give her another foot and a half, on top of that, by tonight, and then keep the kids home tomorrow! Well weather gods I give up, you win! Is that what you wanted to hear?? I will say it, I have no pride, YOU WIN!!! Is that what you wanted to hear? You are te king of the castle, (or the snow Banks) , I give up!! I'm Tapping out!! Olly,Olly Oxenfri ( I don't know how to spell that) but I say it!! What do you want? Tell me, I will do it!!
