The eggs were a hit!!

Hi guys, I just wanted to show you a picture, and let you know that we took my 92 year old Great Aunt out to dinner for her birthday, and I gave her the flowered eggs that I made her for the tree I gave to her for Christmas. (see video below)  I would love to show you a picture of her at the birthday dinner, but since I was old enough to walk, I knew that we are NEVER allowed to take a picture of my aunt. I mean NEVER!!!! We all sneak one here or there, but if she caught you taking one, well lets just say that she is about 3'5' tall (I am not exaggerating about that, I am 5'2" and she comes up to about the bottom of my rib cage!!!!) Her shrinking, started about 10 years ago, and never stopped!!Although that is all part of her cuteness!!!! Anyway, I took a picture of the eggs on my tree, there were no other decorations on my tree at the time, but I think you can get the idea of how they came out!! I also made some cards, but I haven't taken a picture of those yet, but I will get to that soon. I hope you all like them (well not all of you, that is really greedy of me) I hope that some of you like them!!! Karen♥

Hey Guys!!

Hey Guys, Guess what I have been doing today???????!!!!!!! Clearly you can not all guess, because A) That would take a really long time, for everyone to guess, especially without a topic to narrow the guess' down. B) I am sure that you all have better things to do than to really guess what I have been doing.  Do you really think that people really expect you to guess when they ask that question?? I mean when people ask "Guess what I was doing today", do they really expect an answer? I don't remember ever giving anyone an answer when I have been asked that question.  I mean ever!! I think it is kind of ridiculous that people even ask that question, so I am retracting that question, so any of you that were going to guess, sorry. I hope I didn't ruin your day. I mean what if you were looking forward to guessing? If anyone was looking forward to guessing, don't read any further, because somewhere in this post I will eventually get to the answer, but who knows when that will be? I have been known to ramble ( so I have been told, I don't see it, but I have been told) so if you want to guess, don't read any further, and you can email me your guess.  Now where was I ??? Oh yeah, what was I doing today?  Just kidding, I know what I was doing today!! haha I was making a video!!! YAY!!!!!!! I have been making dome Easter eggs for my Great Aunt's tree that I gave her for Christmas, you know the one with the light bulbs, well I have been trying to make her decorations for the tree, so she can keep the tree up all year long.  I haven't made her the bunny light bulbs yet to go with the eggs, but I will before her birthday next week.  So I will be putting the video of the eggs up tomorrow, or Sat, and I will be sure to show you the bunny bulbs before I give them to her!! I want to Thank You all for the encouragement while I was down, and while I was cleaning my pit of a craft room!! You are all so great, and I am so lucky that you include me in your day! Karen♥

Hi Guys!!

Hi All,
I will be missing for a few days, My Baby girl turned 21 today!!! We all went out to dinner, and we had her first "Legal" drink together!! Cause lord knows, it was not her first drink!! She was such a good girl all through high school, and then she decided that she was not going to go to college without ever having a drink, so in her brilliant mind she decided to have her first drink at 18 at a Blink 182 concert! She didn't have it in out house, or at a friends house, she decided to have it at a CONCERT where there are 95 THOUSAND cops all over the place!! I know that this is where she had her first drink, because she told me, when we went to go pick her up at the Police holding tank at the concert!!! We got a phone call about 2 hours after she left to go to the concert, it is that phone call that as a mother, or a parent, you never want to get.  The phone rang, I answered it, and I heard, "Mrs. Driscoll" This is Officer so, and so, and I have Amanda, she is fine, everything is fine, but,  she has been drinking, I wish I could tell you what his name was, or the rest of the conversation, but after I heard she is fine, and everything is fine, I couldn't tell you how I made it upstairs to tell my husband, or how we got to the concert to pick her up. I do remember walking into the holding area, and seeing about a thousand teenagers, I saw one fall out of her chair, and laugh her head off on the ground, and then I saw her, she had this petrified look on her face, with her back up against the wall, and a police officer came over to us to see which one of these idiots we were there to get, and when we told him, he said, "Oh Amanda, she is the best drunk we have" Now there was not a moment to prouder of than when a police officer tells you that your drunk teenager, was the most well behaved drunk that they have!! It is one of those moments that you put right in the memory book with her first step, and the first time she had carrots!!! Anyway, I found out all about how this was her first drink, ALL, and I mean ALL the way home!! There is one thing that you cannot stop, and that is a drunk teenager from talking. Talking about anything, and EVERYTHING!!! There was a part of me that was so angry, and the other part that had to bite my lip, (really hard) not to laugh at whatever she was rambling about!! T also thought at that moment, what I had put my parents through, because I, unlike my daughter did not wait to have my first drink till I was 18 like my daughter did. The only thing that saved me half the time with my parents was that I had 4 other sisters, and there was a good chance that one of them would come in after me, and would be more drunk than I was!! hahaha.  So I will be spending this week with my wonderful, daughter who is on spring break, and who is still out "Celebrating" her birthday, she does have a designated driver(for those of you that are curious) and she did have one the night of that concert also, which helped with the level of anger that I had that night, but as for tonight, I am not sure what time she will roll in here, but the thing that I am sure of, is that I couldn't have asked for a better daughter, friend, and just the best person that I want to hang out with.  So I will be back in a few days, and I Love You Manda!!!    Karen♥

Hello My Faithful Followers!

Hey guys, I want you to know that I really mean the title of this post. I was at the fabulous Norma's blog at pinkblingcrafter.blogspot.com yesterday, and she had a post that really touched me, as a person, and a blogger who really wants to have a blog that people really love to come to. Norma had posted a story that she had read at Karen's blog, Sewmanyways.blogspot.com that was about blogs, what we like and don't like about them, and a comment that was made on Karen's blog, that really touched her from Daryl at a wonderful blog called  patchouli-Moon-Studio.blogspot.com The comment, which you can read over at Norma's, which will bring you to the whole story at Karen's blog, was about how Daryl had 2 blogs for 5 years to which no one, except a very close friend rarely made a comment. She was so disheartened that she actually took 1 of her blogs down, and the shut off the comment part of her blog, so that she would not have to see that no one commented. This hits home for me, because I along with a lot of you, I'm sure, feel the same way. I have almost 300 followers, but I get comments from my WONDERFUL few, probably 7 or so, UNLESS, I have a challenge with some fine "candy" to be won, in that case the commenters come out of the woodwork!! They comment, they become followers, they put their project up (thanks to my fabulous friend Carrie over at Doubleclickconnections.blogspot.com who showed me how to add that Linkie thing onto my blog, thanks again Carrie, love ya girl!) and after the challenge is over, and someone has won the "Candy", they all go back into the woodwork again, except my magnificent 7 or so.  This used to bother me, but now, I no longer ask during a challenge that you become a follower, if you want to that is great, and I would love to have you, but if you have become a follower just to win the "candy", then just post your project, and best of luck to you. I did this, because I no longer feel the need to "collect" Followers.  I used to run to my computer first thing every morning, to see how many people commented on my project, or read my funny little story that I wrote the night before, but now what has been the most important thing to me, has been My Magnificent 7 or so that know and remember that I was going to see the doctor and I was worried, and I can turn on my computer and log and find that My Magnificent 7 or so, were already there, asking how it went, telling me that they prayed for me, or I was in their thoughts, but most of all, these girls, My Magnificent 7 or so, that put up with my ridiculously long blogs, or my story that I think is funny, and even if they don't, they say they do, but the best thing is, they come back day after day, and I don't have to give them "candy" they just come! Daryl, if you happen to read this, that is what is important, and you had it all along, with your close friend, that did comment on your blog, That is what you want out of your blog, not the ones that come to get something, the ones that don't want to get something. Sorry about the length of this, but I know that my Magnificent 7 or so, are going to read the whole thing and comment on it, and I know that I will read each and every one of their comments, and then i will go to their blogs, and read theirs, and make my comments, and I hope that they appreciate my comments as much as I do theirs. So Thank You to My Magnificent 7 or so, Carri@doubleclickconnections.blogspot.com, Pat@ Patsscraps.blogspot.com, Tami@ Tamiscraftconnection.blogspot.com, Norma@ PinkBlingCrafter.blogspot.com, Jessica@ chick-n-scrap.blogspot.com Carolanne@ Loganscraftymomma.blogspot.com, Lisa@ Lisascreativeniche.blogspot.com and a few more of you, and you know who you are, Thanks for making my blog all that I want it to be!  Love you all, Karen♥

It's Update time again!!

Well what a few days changes..... I got some of my blood tests back from the doctor, and the news was kinda shocking.  I was told by this doctor that my test results came back for Lupus ready?? Negative!! Yup Negative!! Can you even believe it? for the past 15 years of my life I was told by 2 DR's at the Lahey clinic, which is an amazing hospital that I had lupus, now another doctor that I just saw told me that it was negative. So I ask him"Dr" why would I have been told by 2 different Dr.'s for 15years that I had Lupus, and Fibromyalgia? and he says, Oh you do have Fibromyalgia, you just don't have Lupus. He then tells my that is a verry tricky test, with a lot of false positives. So I say"Dr" would that also mean that there are also false negatives??? No answer So we move on to my back problem to which he says from the xrays that we took, you have Bone Degeneration   on your left hip, a pre Ostyoperosis. So thenm he tells me that he tested my vitamin D levels, and that came back blank, blank? Yes he says you have absolutely no vitamin D in your body. So I am just done with Dr.'s and I will be now be diagnosing myself!! I am going to set up an office if anyone needs me to tell you you have something for  years, and then I will say that you don't. Then this is the part where you pay me all your money!! I am very Disheartened , so if you have something nice to say about anything!! Please do!!

Hi guys, I wanted to give you an update of my dental experience. I went to the dentist last week, and after getting some gas I had my tooth worked on. It was the fastest hour of my life. I felt like I had just sat down, and it was over. I am so glad I found this dentist. She is fantastic! I have one more appointment next week and then I'm good for the next year. However, I received a bill from the first dentist who told me I needed a root canal that I never need. My new dentist, said there was no way that dentist could have known I needed a root canal because the x-ray that he took did not show the roots of the tooth! That first dentist had the nerve to send me a bill for an emergency appointment. I don't know what he thinks emergency means, because I called on Monday morning and had an appointment for Wednesday afternoon. They even gave me a few times to choose from. To me, an emergency appointment would be the same day, and they squeeze you in and you wait around till they can get to you. So now an update on my craft room. I feel like this room is never going to be done. I feel like the more I clean the more mess I see. I also wanted to let you guys know, that I was on Joann.com, and they have Peachy Keen stamps for $14.99. Some are sold out, but they do still have some in stock. It's a great buy, they are usually $25.99, so if you're in the market for some I would go, and grab some. All of their scrap booking supplies are 40% off they have coupons for free shipping, or an extra 15% off including sale items. I am hoping to get my scrapbook room finished up by the end of the week so I can get crafting. I feel like I'm going through withdrawals and I've got a get back to it soon. I started a box of things that I want to get rid of, and things I want to sell. I was thinking if anyone was interested, I would like to have a swap of things we have lying around that we are using even if you opened it in use or partial portion, it might be something someone else could use. If you're interested send me an e-mail and let me know and I'll try to organize something. My e-mail address is karenskrafts1@aol.com. Hopefully we can get a few people together to do this it's a great way to clean up, and share at the same time. I'll check back in a couple of days, have a great week, Karen!

My Favorite New Toys!!!!

Hey Guys, We are all getting over all of our illnesses around here, and I have been dying to show you my product review of these amazing punches from We R Memory Keepers!! They are HUGE!!! The all cut shapes into any size square paper.  They each have different shapes, and they all have on and off buttons on the top, which can make each different shapes, and they can be interchanged, and used with each other.  I can't even imagine how many different combo's that there can possibly be put together.  I will be doing a video to show you how they all work, and to show you how to use them, but just getting over my stomach bug that my wonderful boy's shared with me this week after getting over the trauma dentist experience, and the sore throat and cold that they shared with me last week, I was just not up to doing a video, so this will have to do for now.
Here they are!! These are the 4 that I got, and each of them can be used with each other!

This is more of a square, and has the inner, outer, and combo.

The buttons on the top, turn the cutting function on and off, to make each combo.

Here are some sample cuts from 2 of the punches.

This is a bit better of a picture this is using the combo. The inside  and outside of the punch.

This is more of an up close picture of a combo.

This shows the scallop with 1 function on to cut the holes, and the deep purple shows just the scallops.

Just another picture of some of the punches.

You can combine any of these punches with each other, and the combos are endless!

This one shows that you can do an inner cut, outer cut, or a combo

This is the circular punch, you can cut a plain circle, one with scallops, or the outline in a square piece of cardstock.

I can't wait to make a video to show you all the amazing things that just 1 of these punches do. Wait till you see what happens when you mix punches, colors, and sizes of paper!! It is amazing!  I think that you all will be as amazed as I was, and I hope to get the video out this week.  Thanks for stopping by, and letting me share my new found product to share with you!! Karen♥
