50th Birthday Card

Hey Everyone!! Well things are slowly getting back to, I hate to say normal,  but back anyway.  I want to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, and for the beautiful cards that some of you took the time to make and send.  It was so comforting to get cards from you guys, knowing the time that you all to to make them.  I will have to post them, so you all can see the work that was lovingly put into each and every card.  I did finally feel like getting back to work in my craft room, to make a card for a friend who has just turned 50, and I thought that I would share it with you.  Thanks again you guys, you helped us get through a horrible time, the loss of a brother that came way too soon. I think that this card reflects what all of us think about that certain number, and it can be a different number for each of us, but gives us the same feeling!!!  I used some patterned paper that I had in my scrap's pile, and I used a strip of while with a smaller strip of white paper on top of the first to make it look like wooden molding separating the paper to look like wallpaper.  I drew the toilet, but I am sure that there must be a die cut for it somewhere.  I then wrote the message to look like a framed piece of art on the wall with x-stitch floss and a yellow brad to hold it up on the "wall", and topped the whole thing off with a roll of toilet paper that I drew to look like it was on a chrome holder on the wall!! Dealing with a very difficult time

Hi Everyone, Just a quick note to let you all know that I am still here.  We are trying to get through an extremely difficult time.  On Sunday morning, around 3:30a.m., we got a phone call from my husband Paul's brother with devastating new, (not that there is really any other kind of news at that time)  Paul's younger brother, after a late night munchie run to McDonalds run with his roommates, he got home and said he wasn't feeling very well, and asked what a heart attack felt like, and they asked him why, and he said he wasn't feeling very well, and said he would be right back, and went into her bedroom.  His roommates her a thud, and ran into his room to find Mark,(Paul's brother) on the floor, they called 911 and started CPR. They and paramedics were unable to revive him, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.  At 39 he suffered a massive coronary, called a widow maker. I am asking for all of your thoughts and prayers at this horribly difficult time Thank  you all so much, and I will will be back with you all soon.   Karen♥

Missing you all, and some projects!!

Hi Guys!!! Wow, It has been a while!  I am feeling so much better, and I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart, for your kind words, and get well wishes!  I am leaving today for a very much needed trip to Florida!!!  Before I leave I wanted to share with you a project that I made for my daughter Amanda, and her college room mates, who are watching the new puppy, and they are also banning anything that has to do with Valentines day!! So I made these little boxes that I have made before, and there is a video on my Youtube channel!! I think that is kadrisc! or just type in Karen Driscoll in the search bar.  Anyway, here are some pictures of my un-Valentines day gifts. I hope you like!!!

I also made one of these boxes, and a matching card for the friend that we are staying with in Florida for having us down!!
