Where did this crafting interest come from?!

I have been crafting my whole life, I started scrapbooking when I was in High School. Although it was nothing like scrapbooking is today. I had those magnetic albums, you know the ones that damage your photos if you keep them in there for any length of time they turn a orange-red type color. I really got into scrapbooking the right way about 18 years ago. I fell in love with anything that had to do with it. I would scrap during the day while the kids were sleeping, and when they went to bed for the night I would get right back to it. I got into Creative Memories, and had crops in my home every friday night. I soon took over Dining Room with scrapbooks, die cuts, glue sticks, tape runners, and of course PAPER!! I would never have believed that a human being could become so emotionally attached to paper, I loved to buy it, use it, alter it, ect. I then decided that I would take over another room in the house that I thought I would set it up, and it would be wonderful, except for the fact that I am the messiest crafter in the free world. I can't seem to take something out, and when I am done just put it away. It seems like an easy concept, but i just can't seem to grasp it!! I had to stop my friday night crops because I was diagnose with Lupus. For those of you who do not know what that is, I didn't either when the doctor told me that I had it. What it is basically, is an auto-immune disorder, and it causes joint pain, a rash on and off on my face, and a few other annoying symtoms. Anyway, I was in and out of the hospital because of another annoying disease called Colitis. I had trouble committing to every friday night crop cause I never knew how I was going to feel. I also have been decorating cakes on and off, since I was in high school. I deceided to start decorating again this year, and it has changed so much since then, it is a whole different craft now. There are new techniques it seems every day, and like scrapbooking, it just keeps getting better. So I hope you will take a look at my pictures, and if there is something that interests you, please email me. I will be putting up new pictures soon. I have some pictures of some murals that I have painted on my nephews wall in his room, and also in my sons room, so if you are interested in something like that, they will be added soon. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoyed looking around.

  1. Thank you so much for sharing your story about paper crafting, paintings, cake making, and about your condition. You're amazing. You paint? Murals? You have to incorporate that into your scrapbooks and perhpas maybe I can talk you into doing a youtube demo on painting? Too bad we're not neighbors. I'll probably invite myself over too often just to talk about our latest projects. I'll be checking your page often and even though we both don't have many followers in your blogs, I'm sure people are at least visiting and reading whatever we post up. Take care.
