  1. Oh my gosh! I am totally in love with this can. Do you mind if I steal..err..scraplift this can? I live at the beach (Chesapeake Bay) so my house is decorated in a beachy theme. I have questions...

    1. Is that sand paper around the bottom or just paper that looks like beach?
    2. Where did you get the colored glass rocks?
    3. Where did you get the little message in a bottle?

I have never made one of these before, is it ok if I make one and post it on my blog if I give you the credit for the idea?

  4. Ooo Karen, I love this! Daughter's getting married next month on the beach & this will be a great way to "wrap" the bridesmaids gifts. Where did you get the adorable little bottle for the message in a bottle on top?

  5. Hey Guys, Christine, and Tami, absolutely you may paint can lift this, The paper on the bottom is a tan piece of paper, that I ran Upside down in my Xyron (you have to run it through upside down, so you will get the adhesive on the right side of the paper, or you could use cardstock) then I used real Beach sand and dumped it all over the paper(I recommend you do this outside) it sticks great, but shake it upside down to get the loose sand off. The colored beach glass, and some shells are from Michael's, and some shells are from the beach. The glass little bottles, are from Tim Holtz, or from Ranger, I got from Oh My Crafts. They are very inexpensive, like 7 different sizes for $5 or $7. The rope, I made by twirling a bunch of strips of twine, and then every once in a while I used my glue gun, and squirted it in the middle, and keep twisting till you feel it is thick enough. I also put the same twine on the top under the shells. I first put the Red line sticky double sided tape on the can (I found this was the best way, you could use the glue gun) then I started from the outside of the lid, and kept going till I got to the center. I think that was it. I hope you guys are doing my challenge, and I want to see your cans when they are done!! Karen♥

  6. Oh sorry, I took the bottle and took the cork top off, and rolled some ripped printer paper up and put brown marker on the edges to look old, and shoved it in the bottle!! Karen♥
